There are several museums that preserves the historical information about the Navajo people, the land, & culture. The Interactive Navajo Interactive Museum located in Tuba City, Az provides insight to the traditional way of life, legends, beliefs & arts of the Navajo people. The Navajo Museum in Window Rock, Az displays exhibits on the Long Walk of the Navajos & other exhibits regarding Navajo culture.
There are several operated Navajo Nation Parks on the Navajo Nation. Each of the Navajo Tribal Parks landscape are one of kind areas of pristine wilderness, majestic canyons, high mountain meadows, dry deserts, flatlands and blue skies. Travel among this contrasting breathtaking scenery in all the United States. These parks are some of Navajoland’s prime tourist destinations and should not be missed.
Navajo monuments are scattered within the four sacred mountains of the Navajo Naton. Each of these monument history is a blend of past traditional & present culture that conveys several periods of Navajo culture & provide a spectacular backdrop for hundreds of ancient Anasazi ruins. These ancestors of the Navajos set the stage for Navajos in the current millennium of maintain & blending the old ways to modern times.
Trading Post development on the Navajo Nation began after 1868. A new means of product exhange was brought by these owners that the Navajos could not produce. These included items as flour, sugar, coffee, canned goods, tools, cloth, etc. Further, these owners introduced many of the Navajo arts to the outside world, most famously the Navajo Rugs. The original structure of some trading posts are preserved.
The first Navajo Casino, Fire Rock was established in 2008. Since that time three additonal casino has opened in New Mexico & Arizona. The most elaborate Casino near Flagstaff, Az, Twin Arrows Casino & Resort broke ground in March 2011 & open it's doors in 2012. Each of the Casinos interior design incorporate Navajo culture & crafts. Overseeing these developments are the the Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise.
