The "Discover Navajo Pavilion"
was an exciting exhibit showcasing the Navajo Nation during the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. This "beautiful and well-presented"
3.5 million dollar interactive exhibit is rich in the cultural heritage
of the Navajo American Indian Nation. Visitors had the rare opportunity to learn about the colorful and impressive Navajo culture.
Members of the Navajo Nation demonstrated basketry, carving, silversmithing,
weaving, and also read Creation stories. Efforts are currently underway to reopen the exhibit within the Navajo Nation. Visitors will enjoy an exhibit like no other while the Navajo people continue to celebrate their culture and tradition. |
